Narashino Sausage begins in a specific part of Chiba Prefecture: present-day Higashi-Narashino in Narashino City. From September 1915 to January 1920, the Narashino prisoner-of-war camp stood in what was then Mimomi, Makuhari-machi, Chiba-gun, and held about 1,000 German soldiers during World War I.
